Dr. Aubrey King

I am Aubrey Ancil King, MD; a board-certified Child and Adolescent psychiatrist in private practice in Upland, California. I am also contracted to the San Bernardino Department of Behavioral Health. By training, I am an internist; a general population psychiatrist, and a Child Psychiatrist with a long term interest in conduct disorders and other psychiatric conditions; and a Forensic Psychiatrist. My primary focus and interest are in the area of Loss and Grief, and Anger Management. The attendant developmental, moral, and ethical dilemmas observed and witnessed in the past decade, continue to be my primary focus in therapy and research.

In psychiatric parlance, I am more of a lumper and not a splitter, therefore more interested in therapeutic responses and efficacy to biological or medication therapy and Dialectical Therapies. The recent history of America, of financial hardship and austerity, and slow economic growth have exposed deep fissures within the American body politics, institutions, and its culture of liberal constitutional democracy and tolerance.

Loss is the operant state of America at this time and my hope is that this syllabus and protocol on Loss and Grief will provide a sort of GPS or road map to facilitate for a more robust and informed conversation in America; a conversation of more discussions and framing the issues related to loss and dialogue whereby solutions can be elaborated and less diatribe which is entirely about loss.
